Growing Resilience, One Child at a Time.

At Desert Star Therapy, we embrace the resilience and vibrancy of the prickly pear, a symbol of strength and growth. Just as this desert plant thrives in tough conditions, we empower children to overcome challenges and flourish. The star represents the hope and guidance—helping every child shine.

Meet the Owner

Valerie Solis, M.S., CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Valerie! I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience helping children find their voice through fun, functional, and meaningful therapy. As a therapist-owned and operated practice, I understand both the needs of children and the professionals who serve them.

I founded this business with a simple mission: every child deserves access to quality therapy—even during times of nationwide SLP shortages. I’m passionate about supporting school districts and families while also creating a positive, respectful environment where therapists are valued and empowered.

When we care for our therapists, they can better care for the kids who need us most.

“You've been a blessing to our district and the campus you're supporting. You are a great support to the assistant your supervise and make decisions with the students' best interest at heart. You seek out support for procedural/protocol questions for accuracy and correctness. Despite the challenges you've faced being online this school year, you have maintained excellent relationships with staff. We're so thankful!”
